The process of creating the digital poster

Prompt Response:  The process of the digital poster was not hard but it was a pretty easy and quick project. To complete the poster all of the metaphors and similes needed to be done first to be able to put any pictures.I did create template first then add all the pictures.I made sure to put everything that was required and made sure all metaphors and similes were on one side, Summary: Today in class we kept working on our digital posters. Reflection:  Today was a quiet and easy going class period.

Reflect on the simile and metaphor worksheet. Which topic challenged you the most when creating your figurative language, and why? In your response, explain what made that topic difficult and how you worked through the challenge (or what you might do differently next time).

Prompt Response:  Being underestimated was the most challenging topic for me because it was hard to put my feelings into strong figurative language without sounding too simple or too dramatic. To work through this I thought about real situations where people doubted me and compared that feeling to things like being pushed down but still rising up.Next time I would take more time to brainstorm. Summary: Today in class we started on a digital poster on Abode express and used our simile and metaphors from Tuesday and put pictures that represent what we wrote on our worksheet. Reflection:  Today was a long but easy class period.

Today you created similes and metaphors that reflect your struggles, growth, and resilience. In a well-developed paragraph, reflect on the process. What did you learn about yourself while writing your figurative language?

Prompt Response:  While writing the similes and metaphors i learned more about how i view challenges and personal growth.I realized that i tend to see struggle as things that help me become stronger rather than things that define me.Thinking about resilience helped me understand that pressure and self-doubt are sometimes part of improvement. The process also showed me that I like using creative language to express my emotions and experiences.Over all I learned that my growth often comes from pushing through challenges I face. Summary: Today in class we wrote 6 similes and 6 metaphors that  reflected our struggle, growth, identity, and resilience. Reflection:  Today was a good day in class and I loved how we got to express ourselves and our situations on the worksheet.

Describe how you spent your time, any activities, traditions, travel, hobbies, or moments that stood out to you. You may also discuss something new you tried, something you learned, or how the break helped you reset before returning to school. Keep your response appropriate for a school setting and focus on experiences you are comfortable sharing publicly

Prompt Response:  During my break I mostly relaxed and spent time with my family and friends.I went out to eat, watched movies, and enjoyed not worrying about school for a while. The break helped me rest mentally, catch up on sleep, and feel more prepared to come back focused and ready. Summary: Today in class we read "Still I Rise" by Maya Angelou and identified six similes and six metaphors. Reflection:  Today was an easy day in class.

If you had to describe how you show love using only three objects (for example: a playlist, a hoodie, a late-night snack, a long text message, etc.), what would you choose and why? Explain what each object represents and how it connects to your personality.

Prompt Response:  If I had to show I how I show love with 3 objects I would choose a long text, gifts, and a playlist. A playlist because it shows how I connect through music. When I make someone a playlist it means that those certain songs remind me of them or I'm trying to say something through the song.It shows I'm thoughtful and pay attention to the memories and feelings. A long text message because it represents how I express my emotions through words.I like making sure people know how much they mean to me.It shows I care enough to be honest  about my feelings. Lastly I chose gift baskets because its how I pay attention to little details.I like giving gifts that remind me of them or what they like.It shows I listen, notice what they like, and put in thought into making them happy. Summary: Today in class the last group presented their interactive oral about the book Wild. Reflection:  Today was a calm and easy day.

Consider your experience reading The Color Purple (a fictional novel), Fences (a play/drama), and Wild (a nonfiction memoir). Which type of longer text did you enjoy the most, the novel, the play, or the memoir, and which did you find the most challenging? Explain your preference, describe what made that type of text more engaging or accessible for you, and reflect on how understanding your preference might influence how you approach future readings.

Prompt Response:  The longer text I enjoyed the most was The Color Purple by Alice Walker.I liked how it showed the characters thoughts and feelings in a deep and personal way.The letters made it feel real and made it easier for me to connect with the story. The most challenging I felt like was the play Fences by August Wilson. Since its mostly dialogue there wasn't much details of what the characters were thinking. I had to read more carefully to understand the emotions and the meaning of the words. Understanding my preference might help me  pick books that have more of a deep meaning next time I approach future readings. Summary: Today my group and other groups presented our interactive oral in class. Reflection:  Today was a quick and easy day.

Even if you have not presented yet, how did participating as a listener, note-taker, or responder during the Interactive Oral help you prepare for your own discussion?

Prompt Response:   Participating as a listener helped me understand what makes a strong discussion.I also noticed which strategies made presentations more organized and engaging. This helped me feel more prepared and confident for my own discussion. Summary: Today in class we listened to group 2 present. Reflection:  Today was a great day.
